| At 2 years old, I'm still appreciating my dog. I can still say he shows a tallent in everything I've exposed him to. |
| Obedience - He has his CGC, and has a good foundation for obedience work. I plan on getting back into training with Mt. Diablo Dog Training Club this Spring. Possibly trying rally, though I'm more fond of traditional obedience. Rally has some weird stuff. |
| Agility - Last year we took agility lessons with both Derede Arthur and Sharon Frielich and at ARF. I'll continue with this after more obedience work. Loved it will do it more seriously. Important note: make more money so I can do more fun stuff. |
| Tracking - We've just started doing tracking in the evenings after our inspirational seminar with Carol Morris on Belgian fun day. I had and "oh shit" moment last week after we'd done a track. I looked past my flag to see a little baby rattle snake curled up two feet away in a hoof hole. I hadn't seen him when I was putting the flag in and snacks down. Important note: be more aware. |
| Herding - Strangely enough we are taking herding lessons every week with Debble Pollard. I believe herding has really given him a good mental and physical workout, and has boosted his confidence. It gives me a workout too, trying not to get trampled by those girls, who seem to stick to me like velcro, as my big bad wolf dog encircles them. Hope to try for an HT title this year? We'll see. My dog should fire me and get a better owner, I spend enough time doing dog stuff as it is. I don't know how some people do so much AND have a life....and a business. Sorry Lobo you're stuck. |

This year. I plan to get him ready to compete again, we had some pretty serious set backs at 10 months. However, the recent changes in his confidence with strangers indicate to me he may be ready for his re-entrance exam this year. I won't rush this, although it's hard watching everyone get ready for the National Specialty in Oregon. But we've just started handling classes again, and he was relaxed, yet cautious his first time back in. Looks like I found a really good handling trainer at Mt. Diablo. He has 5 points towards a championship, whether or not he's worth trying to finish I'll decide after I get back into it, and see how he does against the competition and if he learns to like doing it. |
